Natural Mineral Snail & Slug Killer is only activated once it is inside the snail's digestive system where the snails gastric juices solubilise the mineral iron. Once solubilised, the mineral forms a soluble iron salt complex that interferes with oxygen uptake by haemocyanin, the respiratory pigment of the snail's haemolymph (blood). This causes the snails and slugs to stop feeding and leads to their death. This makes the product low risk for non-target species including pets and native wildlife
